A Tale of Three Cities
As a gesture of love and reconciliation, I've assembled three maps in an effort to bring together the three competing city hood efforts. Currently, we have groups representing Lakeside, Lavista Hills (or Briarcliff) and Tucker. Each have developed maps that overlap the others. As we move through this process we will have to learn, at some point, to compromise. Let this be the start of that conversation.A pdf version of the maps can be found here.
One potato, . . .
The City of Lavista brings everyone together, into one, big, happy family. This city takes its name directly from Lavista Road, which spans this proposed city from one end to the other. This City would have approximately 135,000 residents.. . . , Two potato, . . .
The City of Lavista Hills is a city proposed to be totally inside I-285. This would allow the City of Tucker to remain outside of I-285. I've adjusted the boundaries a little bit between the two around Mercer University Northlake and Embry Hills, to bring the two into balance. Each City would be around 65,000 residents large.
. . . , Three Potato, . . .
Changing Lavista Hills to the City of Briarcliff, the City of Lakeside now comes into play as a third viable option. The three proposed cities would each have a population of approximately 45,000-50,000.
One potato, two potato, three potato, . . . Four?
Is there a fourth candidate out there somewhere?
TO ME WHAT MAKES THE MOST SENSE IS TO MAKE A CITY THAT GOES TO THE SURROUNDING BOUNDARIES OF ALL THE OTHER CITIES CHAMBLEE DECATUR ETC I AM A TUCKER RESIDENT 48 YEARS I DON,T SEE ANY THING PRECIOUS ABOUT THE STUPID NAME.ALL THE OTHER POROPOSALS I BELIEVE DO NOT REALLY HAVE A CURRENT NAME .TUCKER IS NOT A CITY SO WHY NOW ALL THE CLAMORING THEY HAVE HAD YEARS TO INCORPORATE .GET OVER IT
